LSU plays at Auburn on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is 11:00 a.m. Central on ABC or ESPN.

That is a week beyond each team's next game: LSU hosts Mississippi State on Oct. 17, and Auburn plays at Georgia the same day.

The Tiger Bowl

The series is called the Tiger Bowl. The first meeting was on Nov. 20, 1901, in Baton Rouge, and Auburn won 28-0. The last three meetings: Auburn 24-19 in Baton Rouge in 2021, LSU 21-17 at Auburn in 2022 and LSU 48-18 in Baton Rouge on Oct. 14, 2023.

Where each team stands

LSU was 4-1 and 1-1 in the SEC in Lane Kiffin's first season, ranked No. 10 in both the AP and Coaches polls. The Tigers beat Clemson 51-10 and Louisiana Tech 45-14, lost 32-24 at Ole Miss on Sept. 19, beat Texas A&M 35-6 and beat McNeese 63-14.

Auburn was 3-2 and 1-2 in the SEC in Alex Golesh's first season, and unranked. The Tigers beat Baylor 17-16 in Atlanta on Sept. 5 and Southern Miss 43-8, lost 44-39 to Florida, beat Vanderbilt 21-15 and lost 24-14 at Tennessee on Oct. 3.

The tailgate

Auburn's game-day tradition is Tiger Walk, at College and Magnolia then down Donahue Drive: the team walks through the crowd to the stadium, and Toomer's Corner gets rolled after a win. For LSU, night games in Death Valley mean an all-day build-up on the Parade Ground, between Highland Road and Tiger Stadium.

What to watch

LSU's loss at Ole Miss is its only defeat through Oct. 3. Auburn's two losses came to Florida and Tennessee. Two teams that share a nickname will meet with plenty still to play for.
