The Cowboys' best night of the season came at Lincoln Financial Field. Dallas beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 on Monday Night Football on Oct. 26, behind 155 rushing yards from Javonte Williams and three touchdown passes from Dak Prescott.

"Come out, get a division win on the road in a hostile environment," Prescott said. "I think it was massive."

How it went

Brandon Aubrey opened the scoring with a 55-yard field goal. Saquon Barkley, back from a hamstring injury, answered with an 8-yard touchdown run, and Prescott hit CeeDee Lamb on a 9-yard corner route for a 10-7 Dallas lead.

The game stayed close for three quarters. George Pickens made a fingertip catch in the back corner for a 21-yard touchdown, Aubrey kicked a 27-yarder at the end of the half, and Dallas led 20-14 at the break. The Eagles opened the third quarter with an 84-yard drive that took almost 10 minutes and ended with rookie Makai Lemon's first career touchdown, a 4-yard slant from Tanner McKee, to go ahead 21-20.

Dallas answered right away. Prescott found Lamb again, 16 yards to the back-left corner, and then ran in a delayed draw for two points: 28-21 with 1:36 left in the third.

In the fourth, DeMarvion Overshown, playing for the first time since a hamstring injury in Week 1, intercepted McKee, his first interception of the season. Aubrey added a 24-yard field goal, the Eagles turned the ball over on downs, and Williams scored from 2 yards out to finish it.

Williams carries it

Williams ran 25 times for 155 yards, a career high and the first 150-yard rushing game by a Cowboy since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Dallas ran for 204 yards and had 416 total. Prescott said the offense "stuck to the run" and "had great balance."

"Javonte, man, the power, the acceleration, it was there tonight," Brian Schottenheimer said. "He looked great."

The box score

  • Prescott: 15 of 27, 212 yards, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions.
  • Lamb: 5 catches, 74 yards, 2 touchdowns.
  • Aubrey: field goals of 55, 27 and 24 yards.
  • McKee: 23 of 35, 211 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
  • The Eagles did not sack Prescott.

Where it left them

Dallas improved to 3-4. Philadelphia, playing without Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season with blood clots in his lungs, fell to 2-5 with its fifth straight loss.

"Our division, we're in it," Overshown said.

The Cowboys lost to Arizona six days later, but they get the Eagles again on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, at AT&T Stadium. The video above is from a Cowboys watch party at Pluckers in Addison, Texas.
