Florida visits Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin on Saturday, Oct. 17. Kickoff is 12:00 p.m. ET (11:00 a.m. in Austin) on ABC or ESPN.
Where each team stands
Texas was 4-0 and 1-0 in the SEC, ranked No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches polls. Steve Sarkisian's team opened with a 59-7 win over Texas State, beat Ohio State 24-23 on Sept. 12, topped UTSA 30-6 and won at Tennessee 20-17 on Sept. 26. Two of those four wins were by a combined four points.
Florida is 4-2 and 2-2 in the SEC, ranked No. 16 in the AP poll (No. 15 in the Coaches poll) in Jon Sumrall's first season. The Gators beat Florida Atlantic 66-21 and Campbell 52-3, won 44-39 at Auburn and beat Ole Miss 52-28 on Sept. 26. Then the results turned: a 45-17 loss at Missouri on Oct. 3 and a 38-19 home loss to South Carolina on Oct. 10.
The tailgate
Bevo Blvd runs along San Jacinto Blvd, north of the stadium, with the Longhorn Band and the steer himself on hand before kickoff.
Gator fans have their own version in Gainesville: Gate 2 Grills, where the grills are going since sunrise outside Gate 2 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
What to watch
A No. 1 team that has won all four of its games, two of them by a single score or less, takes on a team that has dropped its last two. Texas is 1-0 in SEC play. Florida is 2-2.
